Log Nets FAQs
1. How Big Are Your Log Nets?
Our hardwood log nets are approximately 30L. Our 10 Log Net Master pack holds around 300L of logs.
Our kindling log nets are 40cm x 60cm. You can purchase a single bag of kindling or save money with a bundle of 10 kindling log nets!
2. What Logs Are in Your Log Nets?
Our log nets contain our premium kiln-dried hardwood logs. These logs are mostly
ash, which is renowned for its excellent burning qualities, as well as other high-quality hardwoods, such as beech, cherry and birch.
3. What Size Are the Logs in the Log Nets?
Our kiln-dried hardwood logs are between 8 and 12 inches in length. They are suitable for a wide range of uses, including wood-burning stoves, multi-fuel stoves, fireplaces, firepits and pizza ovens.
4. What Are Kiln-Dried Logs?
Unlike seasoned logs, which are air-dried naturally, kiln-dried logs undergo a controlled heating process in a temperature-regulated kiln. This method reduces their moisture content to under 20%, helping them burn hotter and for longer.
5. How Should I Store My Log Nets?
At Westdale Logs, our log nets are made from breathable mesh, which allows air to circulate between the logs. This means you can easily store your log nets by stacking them indoors or outdoors in a suitable log store or covered with a tarpaulin.
Here are some of our top tips for storing your log nets:
- Choose a well-ventilated space
- Leave small gaps between the nets to allow for air circulation
- Raise them off the ground, if possible, to improve airflow
- Use a breathable cover if storing them outdoors to protect them from the rain
6. What Are the Benefits of Buying Log Nets?
Our log nets are a convenient way to purchase your kiln-dried logs. Here are some of the benefits of choosing log nets:
- Easy to stack and store
- Logs can be kept in their nets
- Easy to see how many logs you have left
- Lightweight to carry and easy to transport
7. Are Your Log Nets Ready to Burn Certified?
Yes, all our kiln-dried firewood at Westdale Logs is Ready to Burn certified with a moisture content below 20% (the actual moisture content is typically around 18%).
Ready to Burn certification means the logs in our nets can be burnt in compliance with Air Quality Regulations and can be used in Smoke Control areas such as Sheffield, Chesterfield and Buxton close to the Peak District.
8. Where Do You Deliver Your Log Nets To?
